Coolness in its infancy

I'd say give this technology 10 years (maybe less) and it will be at a level we would today consider sci-fi...

More information is just what we need right? I won't delve into the potential positive or negative ramifications (there are arguably many on either side) but merely from a geek point of view this is super cool stuff.

oh hell.

So this thing functions as a reaction to brain waves or hand gestures or both. I guess I didn't quite understand where the information was being referenced from. For instance walking up to a person on the street and retrieving information about them. Is this done manually or as an effect of particular brain patterns or as a effect of reading the "chip" in the other person's being?

Well no it is nothing quite that cool. It is like a cell phone connected to a remote database and the projector also has an electronic eye with a very advanced optical recognition software programmed to know when it is for example looking at a book or a barcode sticker on a cereal box or various hand gestures. No brain waves are involved except to remember which hand gestures the things will recognize. I could see the projector for example being replaced with special glasses which would act as your monitor and be less, well, goofy looking and much MUCH better looking than projecting a calculator onto your hand.

OK, when she was talking with her Belgie accent about "toilet papers" this video entered the realm of comedy for me and I stopped paying attention to the technical aspects. What can I say, I'm that shallow, yes.

Yeah I laughed at her tree hugging as well.
