There is something to be said about the old adage regarding idle hands...

Bill, comeon... Is this why you retired??

I guess when you have the money you can make really pathetic commercials.

No, this is awesome. What a clever answer to the ass-kicking they have been getting from the Mac commercials.

PS. Back to an older subject, here is some art I think you might be interested in.

I tried to like it but it was meaningless. The Mac commercials worked when they communicated something...this just tries, limply, to entertain. Some BS about connecting which is vapid MS corporate speak.

They should go on offense, show the limitations of the Mac. Of which there are many. Of course it depends what markets you're talking about. With home computers, their cheaper prices are doing the advertising for them...the Mac commercials do little more than reassure the converted that they have spent their 2 grand wisely on an iBook. With business computers, no advertising is required, again, because seriously, who is going to run a business on Mac OS? Maybe a small art or production firm, that's about it. MS should be (and likely is) more worried about Linux overtaking them in the corporate market, Apple poses no threat to them there.

So this ad seems to be attempting to just sell Vista. That's a tall order. They need to introduce a new product, VixP, that basically strips Vista down to XP performance level and power (and freedom). We'd buy that!

Pilgrim those were intriguing! Seriously cool stuff.

Regarding the MS commercials... hhhhhhhhhhhh. The Mac commercials are preaching to the choir and I doubt Windows is suffering any great loss of market share. Now Vista has certainly failed to grab any marketshare from Mac users but I think the Mac OS is just too different for most lifelong Windows users to want to switch to. If Mac would let go of its hold on the hardware end they might just have a chance at hitting MS where it hurts. As long as they stay the course with proprietary hardware they will never overcome.
